Karla Palomo joined El Financiero | Bloomberg as a financial TV correspondent based in New York in September 2013. She specializes in businesss and economic news and also reports on politics and other current issues with a focus on Mexico and Central America.


Fluent in English and Spanish, Palomo has secured numerous exclusive interviews with heads of state, finance ministers, central bankers, as well as leaders in business and entertainment, making top headlines.


Palomo’s on-air experience includes five years at Bloomberg News, where she worked as a TV/radio anchor and reporter, covering the main economies of Latin America as well as the financial crisis. Prior to joining Bloomberg in 2004, she worked at Univision in Chicago as an assignment editor and writer and as a TV reporter for Univision’s affiliate in Sacramento, California. She was also the first Hispanic journalist to anchor, produce and write financial news broadcasts in Spanish from the Chicago Stock Exchange. Also, she hosted a weekly personal finance radio show from the Nasdaq designed to increase financial literacy among U.S. Hispanics.


Her work has also been published on Yahoo!, Fox News Latino and several international publications. She has also appeared on various Spanish-language TV and radio shows across the U.S. analyzing current business and economic trends and their impact on the Latino Community.  In addition, she has been invited to host and speak at various conferences.

Palomo earned a B.A. from Columbia College Chicago, where she graduated with honors and an M.S. in Journalism from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism.  In 2011, she was awarded the prestigious Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in Economics and Business Journalism for one year of studies at Columbia Business School.
